Weddings are always a beautiful affair but the first Indian lesbian wedding in the US takes it to a whole new level. Seamlessly mixing Hindu traditions and American style, this wedding was one of the most beautiful events you will feast your eyes. The simple fact it was America’s first documented lesbian Indian wedding is a beautiful thing in itself.

Found on the website, IndiaTimes the story goes that one of the wives, Shannon saw her future wife, Seema at a fitness class that she was teaching and immediately told the other lesson instructor that she was going to marry that girl one day.

They got married six years later, a true love at first sight story.

This wedding is especially unique because although it isn’t the first lesbian wedding and America is becoming more accepting it is definitely not the same for the Indian community which still heavily frowns upon gay marriage and relationships.

Seema and Shannon had no problems with their family. Seema was able to carry out Hindu traditions and was carried out on a doli to attend her wedding and Shannon was walked down the aisle by her mother.

The photographer Steph who was incredibly excited about photographing the wedding made is exquisite. She says on her website “I have been anticipating this wedding for years now. Shannon and Seema are special to me and I am honored that they chose me to be their wedding photographer.”
