June is LGBT pride month. It’s made to celebrate equality and started in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a major keystone in gay rights and it’s only right that we take the time to celebrate.

This month wear rainbow colors, read your favorite lesbian authors and watch your favorite lesbian movies.

Be proud of who you are, be proud that you stepped out when you know that there are people out there who won’t accept you. This is your month. Have fun, be wild, kiss girls and share it all.

Life is too short not to be happy and we want to celebrate pride the right way with happiness, joy and never ending smiles. We’re living to laugh and have fun and be silly and emotional.

Find some friends, sign up for GirlfriendsMeet, go to a local pride event and connect with people who are like you or who are completely different but have the same goals. We live in a fast world now but always take a moment to look around so you don’t miss out.

You’re not alone; you’re fighting the great fight and doing great things. We look back on the history of people that have brought us here and then we celebrate the present and look forward to a great future of acceptance.
