Now, don’t get her confused with Ellen Degeneres… you know our women crush Wednesday this week. The queen of sitcom… Jane Lynch. Jane Lynch was always hilarious and talented saturating comedy channels with her presence but it wasn’t until Glee that she really stepped up her game. Playing a cunning and manipulative cheerleading coach named Sue Sylvester who wasn’t afraid to say or do what she wanted. Glee in itself promotes the idea of relationship equality with characters like Santana and Kurt being gay.
In the show Jane Lynch marries herself (who better to marry than yourself) but in real life she is lesbian. She stands for gay rights participating in many series and interviews where she is able to tell her story and inspire other closeted gays to do the same. She grew up playing baseball with the boys and always thought that something about her was different. She used her differences to establish success before coming out in the year 2005. Proving to the world that she was just as hard working and spectacular as everyone else.
Jane Lynch was born in Illinois and grew up in areas surrounding Chicago but currently resides in the home of the stars Los Angeles. She quite literally has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has a bachelor’s degree in theatre and just never seems to stop. She’s braced films, TV shows and Broadway. Embracing each full force and playing a variety of roles.
In the past she was married to Dr. Lara Embry but in 2013 they made a split handling it in a very mature and respectful way. She ended up splitting everything when they divorced paying Embry a more than fair amount from her millions.
My favorite roles from Jane Lynch are obviously Glee (I’m not even being basic, she won numerous awards for a reason), Sleepover (shout out if you remember that movie) Jane Lynch playing a protective mother of a teenage girl (Alexa Vega) and Julia Childs sister in Julie and Julia which also included Meryl Streep as Julia Childs. You know you made it big when you can act alongside Meryl Streep.
You can’t find her on twitter or Instagram. She teamed up with Virgin Mobile Australia to film an online video of her parodying those who post everything about themselves on the internet. It includes her taking selfies on Polaroid’s and making status updates on typewriters. She is a strong believer in being a part of life and the real world rather than hiding behind a phone and getting gratification from messages, pictures and likes.
Ironically, the video was made to be shared across social media to reach a high number of people abusing online streams.
It’s no doubt that Jane Lynch is a person to look up for not only being a great ally for the LGBT community but for behaving in moral ways and trying to help people out everywhere. She has a great sense of humor which allows you to connect to her and it gets her point across well.
I just added Glee as an interest to my Girlfriends Meet profile is it’s something you like to the sign on in and we’ll discuss how awesome Jane Lynch is.
