Jodie Foster was born Alicia Christian Foster on November 19th, 1962. When she turned three she appeared as the Coppertone girl in a television advertisement. In 1968, she played a role in a sitcom her brother started called Mayberry R.F.D. Later in life she began directing and producing films such as her debut feature film as a director, Little Man Tate, and second film as a director, Home for the Holidays.
Jodie has two sons Charles Foster, born in 1998, and Christopher Foster, born in 2001.
Jodie Foster came out while she was giving her speech at the 70th Golden Globe Awards. Although she did not label her sexuality in her speech many news outlets described her as lesbian or gay. She thanked her former girlfriend Cydney Bernard for helping raise her children and being there for her. The two were in a relationship from 1993 to 2008. She later married American photographer, director and actress Alexandra Hedison (below).Jodie’s career has spanned decades and she has been in some very successful movies from The Accused which made over $32 million dollars in the 80’s to Silence of the Lambs which made over $270 million US in the 90’s. She was also in the movie Elysium with Matt Damon which made over $286 million at the box office in 2013. Some of her other best-known movies includes Contact (1997), Panic Room (2002), Flightplan (2005), Inside Man (2006) and The Brave One (2007).
