LGBT Spectrum

Everyone is different and may fall anywhere on the spectrum. Some people may identify themselves as one way for their entire lives where other may shift their identity as it evolves over time. The great thing about people inside of the LGBT community is they are pretty open and accepting with what ever you choose only because they have gone on the same journey and/or struggle that you have when realizing your sexuality. Some people figure it out when they are very young, and other go through life unsure, and realize it later on in life. Just make sure to be patient with people.

Lesbian

A lesbian is a female homosexual, a female who is emotionally and sexually attracted to other females. Lesbian also refers to sexual identity or sexual behavior, regardless of sexual orientation with female homosexuality or same-sex attraction.

Pansexual

Pansexuality is considered to be gender blind, meaning someone can be attracted to people of all genders, placing the focus on who the person is over their actual physical attributes. This does not limit to just males or females, but to the entire spectrum of gender identity. Pansexuality is most common with bi-sexual people.

No mater where you fit on the scale there is someone out there for you. Sometime you just have to be a bit creative in finding them because they might be in the most unlikely places. And remember not everyone lives their life by announcing their sexuality. The person sitting next to you at work or on the bus everyday could be exactly what you are looking for.

Being involved in my LGTB community I have learned there are many types of people you may not expect to be in the community. I have found one thing across the entire spectrum to be for sure – that everyone is pretty friendly and open to each other when they are in a comfortable place. Take a chance and go to the gay bar and say hi to someone, or go on that lesbian retreat! You will never know how much fun you may have.
