I have lived in a few major cities and since I moved around a lot, I tend to live alone. I recently moved back home a year ago and decided to get a roommate, and yes, my roommate is a straight girl. I didn’t really think about her sexuality too much. I was more worried if she was going to keep the apartment clean and pick up after herself. Oh, and how many cats she had.

I was lucky because she is a bit of a neat freak and doesn’t own any pets. She is single and isn’t looking to date anyone right now, focusing on her studies and her two part-time jobs, so I do not have to worry about random guys showing up. Surprisingly we get along great, having similar tastes in movies and shopping. She isn’t around much between her school and work but when we do hang out we have a lot of fun.

When I saw this video (below) on the Logo NewNowNext blog it made me think of when we first started hanging out and how are friendship has grown stronger. It is really nice to have someone in my life like Tara, where I can feel comfortable enough to talk about the ups and downs in life, and someone to help celebrate small victories.
