Raven Symoné Christina Pearman was born December 10, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia. She started in the entertainment industry when she was just 2 years old. She was signed as a miniature model with Ford and appearing in commercials for Jell-O and Cool Whip, and later appearing on The Cosby Show where she played Olivia Kendall, the step-granddaughter of Dr. Cliff Huxtable from 1989 to 1992.
Raven-Symoné started a music career during her childhood, becoming the youngest artist to sign with MCA Records in 1993. Later that year she released her debut album with song “Here’s to New Dreams.” The album was backed by hip-hop artist Missy Elliot. The album eventually flopped and Raven was dropped from MCA Records. She was only seven years old. Years later she was a Disney performer acting in multiple films. In 2003 Disney created a series called Absolutely Psychic. After blowing producers away during her audition, Raven-Symoné was promptly cast as the star and changed the title to That’s So Raven. In 2003 when the show began it had high ratings and was the network’s first original series to reach 100 episodes.
After she moved in with openly gay model AzMarie Livingston, the actress addressed the rumors on her Twitter page, writing: “I’m living my PERSONAL life the way I’m happiest. I’m not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I’m dating. and I shall not start now. My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings (sic) to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.” She later tweeted: “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you.” after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act was announced.
