Carlos Santana

With his own signature series guitar, Carlos Santana has formed a creative and lasting partnership with the designer Paul Reed Smith and is reknowned for his talented, musical performances on guitar. He was born in 1947, he is of Mexican decent and only became known in the 60's where he and his band pioneered the fusion of rock and Latin American Music. Rolling Stone Magazine listed him as one of the top 100 gutairists of all time and his band Santana along with their unusual rythmic sounds received Grammy's, not only American but Latin awards too. Carlos learned to play the violin when he was five and guitar when he was eight years old. His brother also became a guitarist. Santana and his family moved to Tijuana, a city on the border of California and Mexico, where he chose to stay when his family moved to San Fransisco. He was offered University entrance into two California Universities but declined the offer.
