Whilst on tour with Canadian Idol, she independently released her debut album, "Tug of War" with Maple Recording Studio's and later recorded her single," Call me Maybe," which was released by a Canadian label. After her Youtube video got 400 million hits, Justin Bieber introduced her to his manager Scooter Braun who took her into his label. Her single hit the number one spot in the top 100 and was heard throughout the world. She has received multiple awards and was named a Rising star by the Billboard. Jepesen has made appearances on shows like the Tonight Show with Jimmy Falon, made an appearance in the soap opera 90210 and alongside Ellen Degeneres too.
